Meet our Head of School
Ben Courchesne
Leading with Heart. Building with Purpose.
At Trinity Valley School, Boundless Possibility is more than a rally cry—it is a lived experience shaped by a community committed to excellence, exploration, and leadership. With a deep respect for the spirit on which TVS was founded, Ben Courchesne brings a thoughtful, listening heart and a steady hand—honoring the school’s legacy while inspiring new possibilities for every student. TVS remains a place where curiosity is encouraged, courage is cultivated, and potential knows no bounds.
Ben Courchesne is an educator and leader who believes the best schools launch students into the world with both confidence and humility. With a career spanning teaching, coaching, and school leadership, he brings a collaborative and thoughtful approach to fostering communities of trust, curiosity, and moral purpose.
Ben comes to Trinity Valley School from The Pingry School in New Jersey, where he served as Associate Head of School. In this role, he worked closely with the Head of School and Board of Trustees to advance strategic priorities, enhance academics and student life, and cultivate relationships within the community. Previously, Ben was Upper School Head at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, leading a dynamic community of students and faculty and working to create an environment where young people could grow both academically and personally.
Ben’s leadership journey includes roles at The Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia; Roxbury Latin School in Massachusetts; and Groton School in Massachusetts. Across these experiences, he has developed a reputation for honoring tradition while fostering innovation, and for building cultures where every voice matters and every student is seen.
A lifelong learner himself, Ben holds a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College, a Master of Arts in English Literature from Middlebury College, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Connecticut College, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He is an alumnus of Phillips Exeter Academy, where he was a multi-sport athlete—a passion he carried forward as a varsity lacrosse player at Connecticut College and as a coach in his early teaching years.
For Ben, education is about more than just academics—it is about nurturing curiosity, building wide and constructive interests, developing intelligent citizenship, and guiding spiritual and moral growth. He believes leadership begins with listening and the best schools are those where adults and students walk alongside each other, learning and growing together.
Ben and his wife, Audrey, are excited to return to Texas and put down roots in a community whose values align with theirs. Together with their three children—Ronan, Elle, and Alden—they are looking forward to joining the Trinity Valley School family and embracing everything the Fort Worth community has to offer.
