Trinity Valley Head of School Search

Dear Trinity Valley Community,

We hope you are enjoying a summer break full of cherished time with your children and loved ones. Though we are only a few weeks out of the 2023-2024 school year, we have been diligently planning for the future of Trinity Valley School. As the Board of Trustees, we take seriously our role as the guardian of our School’s mission; the work we undertake to adopt clear strategic goals, policies and plans; and our responsibility to hire excellent leadership for our School. 

Today, we write to share an update regarding selecting the future leadership of TVS. We have continued to review what is best for our School and have decided to hire an interim Head of School for the 2024-25 school year and a permanent Head of School who is anticipated to begin in 2025. We interviewed a dozen premier search firms which were narrowed down to four finalists. We then requested written proposals and conducted a final round of interviews along with reference checks. After this thorough process, we selected The Education Group to support us in searches for both an interim and a permanent Head of School.  

A firm founded and based in Texas for 27 years, The Education Group (TEG) works exclusively with independent, private, and nonprofit schools. Given their extensive experience with ISAS and SPC schools, familiarity with Trinity Valley and their commitment to cultivating a hands-on, collaborative search, we are confident they are the right partner to help us identify the right candidate to lead our wonderful School. We will work directly with Bob Kirkpatrick, Susan Lair, and Allison Lorimer, all senior consultants of the firm. 

Adam Wojtelwicz has done a tremendous job stepping into a difficult situation and will continue to serve as our acting Head of School until an interim Head is hired. While Adam is currently leading TVS and our leadership team through this transition, he looks forward to stepping back into his role as our CFO and is appreciative of all the support he has received from our leadership team and community. Sandy McNutt will continue to serve in the role we previously announced as Special Assistant to the Board and Liaison for Community and Faculty. 

Our search for an interim Head of School is already underway. Though the process of selecting an interim will place someone in this role temporarily through the end of the 2024-2025 school year, we are dedicated to selecting a candidate whose expertise is in guiding schools through transitional moments with an eye toward each school’s unique culture. This individual’s leadership will help prepare our School to welcome a new permanent Head before the start of the following school year.

We are also solidifying the process for hiring our permanent Head of School, which will be an open and comprehensive undertaking. We will establish a search committee, along with sub-committees and focus groups, to engage a wide representative sample of our community including parents, faculty and staff, past Board members, alumni, and students.

We are optimistic about the future of Trinity Valley School, and we look forward to this opportunity as a community to embrace together what lies ahead. As a Board, we continue to reflect on how we can better uphold our commitment to transparency, cultivate stronger bonds in support of our students’ experiences, and clearly define our mission and vision moving forward. With these priorities shaping our efforts, we are confident Trinity Valley will continue to thrive while nurturing and developing exceptional students.
