Local schools in underserved communities often look for ways to ensure their students are safe, fed, and cared for during the summer, and TVS helps out with that!

Our camp is free-of-charge to participants, and our mission is threefold:

  1. we meet basic needs through healthy meals and free-play times
  2. we ensure safety by establishing protocols and maintaining supervision, and
  3. we provide exploration opportunities by exposing campers to skills / topics / concepts they would ordinarily not have in their educational experience.

One week each summer, we invite rising 2nd-3rd graders from a local school to our campus.  Since we launched in 2018, we have worked with great partners like Rivertree Academy and have had several repeat campers!

We have an awesome crew of Upper Schoolers who serve as counselors, and TVS teachers volunteer their time to teach amazing lessons on topics and activities like team-building, theater and performance, read-aloud stories, scavenger hunts, athletics, gardening, coding with Ozobots, building and launching trebuchets, puzzles, and life science!
