Children must be 4 years old by June 30 to apply for August enrollment in PK. Children must be 5 years old by August 31 to apply for August enrollment in kindergarten. Children who are waiting a year before entering kindergarten should not be turning 6 before May 1, except in individual cases as determined by the Admissions Committee. Students applying to grades 1-4 must also have a birth date of August 31 or earlier. For grades 5 and above, an applicant's age will be considered on an individual basis as part of the overall admissions evaluation.

Our pre-k classes have a combined enrollment of 45 students.  Each year 60 students enroll in our kindergarten classes. Throughout Lower School, new students are added based on attrition. At fifth grade, we add a class of approximately 20 new students. From sixth grade through eighth grade, enrollment remains around 80 to 85 students per grade.  Upper School classes (grades 9-12) typically have between 90 and 95 students.  For non-entry-point grades, available space is based on attrition and strength of new student applications received during each subsequent year.

The best time to visit campus is in the fall preceding the year you wish to enroll. This timeframe will allow you to learn more about TVS prior to all application and testing deadlines and attend admissions events. However, the admissions staff is pleased to schedule campus visits throughout the year.

No! Visits may be scheduled any time throughout the school year regardless of application status.

Yes. TVS students in every grade volunteer to host visitors. Host students will take visitors with them as they go about their day. Guests of the admissions office will be given a lunch pass for use in the cafeteria.

The members of the Admissions Committee may request interviews or school-day visits as part of the application process for some students in Lower or Middle School. Interviews are required for Middle and Upper School applicants and may be conducted during a school-day visit or scheduled separately. Parent interviews are not required, but we welcome the opportunity to know more about each family.

Consideration is given to qualified applicants who are siblings of currently enrolled students, children of Trinity Valley School alumni, or children of TVS faculty/staff members.

For kindergarten admissions, these students receive an early admission decision; however, School policy states that no more than two-thirds of the kindergarten class may be filled by early decision. This ensures that there will always be openings for families new to the School.

For grades 1-12, qualified applicants who fit one or more of these categories do receive extra consideration, but are not guaranteed the first-available spots. Admission will be more contingent on the number of applicants and the number of spaces available at each particular grade.

Yes. Often there are fewer spaces available in a grade than there are qualified applicants. In that circumstance, students placed on the waiting list may be offered admission if room becomes available.

Yes. Students must test each year they apply to Trinity Valley. After the first application, the reapplication fee is reduced to $25. The standard registration fee for the ISEE test must be paid each time you apply for admission to grades 4-12.

Every candidate is considered for admission based on his or her own merits. That said, we also recognize that most families would like for their children to attend the same school. Utmost consideration is given to every candidate for admission, including siblings, as we seek to enroll students who will be happy and successful Trinity Valley students.

Trinity Valley School cooperates with three other Fort Worth independent schools (All Saints' Episcopal School, Fort Worth Academy, and Fort Worth Country Day) in the scheduling and administration of admission testing for grades K-12. Admission candidates who are applying to more than one of these schools should schedule the admission testing at one school and request that the test scores be shared with the other school(s). To be considered for admission at any other school, candidates must also file applications with those schools. Except under special circumstances determined by the test administrators, results are not valid if a test is administered to the student more than once within a given year.

Typically, openings for the upcoming school year are filled during the initial admissions process. However, it is possible that some room may remain or come available in specific grades after decisions are issued in March. Contact the admissions office for more information on late applications and testing.
